"I was so honored to be asked to curate this exhibit. I had the privilege of visiting the Fountain House studio so I knew going in the level of talent, but I wasn’t prepared for how the artists really went for my prompt. The works are so raw and visceral and sometimes grotesque and unapologetically honest about what it’s like to be human; I was brought to tears. The artists often pushed themselves to try out new mediums and step out of their comfort zones and really expose themselves in a way that I’m sure wasn’t entirely comfortable. The overall effect is intense and sometimes it feels a little voyeuristic but in this beautiful totally relatable way. The artist puts a great deal of trust in the observer and that is really inspiring as a fellow creative; to be unabashedly open and honest is always the goal." - Sophie Flack, curator
