Did you know that almost every pre-colonial civilization has a version of transgender people like the Hijra in India, the Muxe in Mexico, and Two-Spirit people in North America.

I designed the Pronoun Pendant as a quiet yet powerful protest to the countless “Don’t Say Gay” laws being passed around the country. It’s inspired by my own brass antique pill box that has HERS gold-foiled on the red leather top. I wanted to honor the original design but use more durable materials and miniaturize it so it can be worn on a chain. The rotating bale was inspired by my son’s fidget spinners. – Sophie.
